How to get to Hoo Ness Yacht Club

Wherever you come from, make for junction 1 of the M2. Junction 1 is the point at which the A2 becomes the M2.

Leave at junction 1 and continue on the A289 following the signs for GRAIN (A228). Ignore all slip roads and you will reach a roundabout where you turn left on to the A228.

At the top of Four Elms Hill, turn right at the first roundabout, into Main Road, Hoo, drive about a mile to  the village crossroads and turn right into Church Road. Or, at the second roundabout, turn right  into Bell's Lane (signed Hoo Marina).

At the bottom of Bell's Lane cross over at the cross roads into Church Road (joining alternative route), then, soon after passing a "SPAR" store, turn left into Vicarage Lane.

Vicarage Lane ends in a 4-way junction. Take the second right, (signed Hoo Marina) i.e. AFTER the bus stop. You go between  a red warehouse on the left, and a green one (Nettex) on the right. Carry on through the Marina gates and turn right. Go slowly and carefully between the rows of boats, leaving through double gates at the far end. Continue (about 100 yards, over some humps) until you reach the Hoo Ness Yacht Club car park, on your left. The gate may be closed, but is never locked. Please use the car park rather than parking outside, as the lined spaces are all allocated. Thanks!
